Grade: 6 Subject: Science Unit: Severe weather Systems Target Audience: 6th grade Integrated Co-Teaching class This unit is an exploratory unit on severe weather systems for students in a 6th grade integrated co- teaching class with a very diverse population of learners including those with a variety of learning disabilities, and English language learners. |
This instructional design unit is focused in the cognitive domain. The cognitive domain focuses on the development and use of intellectual ability and skills. Students will be engaging in a discovery and investigation based learning unit requiring students to use their critical thinking, problem solving, and higher order reasoning abilities to draw their own conclusions and apply their gained knowledge to construct a virtual model of a hurricane. Students will use a variety of interactive technology during their investigations to allow for a hands-on and constructivist approach to learning.
